SANDchain

SANDchain is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) ZK network. This combination ensures that the decentralisation and security of Ethereum can be leveraged, while providing users and developers with a zero-knowledge rollup that ensures low fees and high throughput.

The rollup is managed by Caldera, and utilises Ethereum Blobs for Data Availability (DA), but will move to EigenDA as the network makes its journey toward mainnet. This change allows for participants in the network to both contribute and accrue value from participation by staking SAND into the DA layer.

SANDchain is fully EVM compatible, ensuring the ease of access for developers familiar with the Ethereum development ecosystem and standards. Through our partnership with Sequence, developers will also have access to the Sequence Builder - a full-stack solution of developer and no-code tooling or building Web3 compatible applications.

In the future, SANDchain will be upgraded to Atlas, which will only go on to improve the efficiency of the network. Granting greater speed and cost efficiency for users.
